Cherry Blossom is an annual and a very cheerful reminder that the spring season is here and it really cheers the North Eastern Folks like us so we could look forward to the long awaited summer after a grueling winter. Spring/Summer makes me happy and I think it does make everyone happy, except the ones who are sensitive to the Pollen Allergies.
Cherry blossom in Washington DC is a popular event, there is an annual parade that you shouldn’t miss and a lot of photo opportunities. Well, when I say photo ops, you have to be careful of the fact that during the expected peak dates, there would be a lot of crowd, when I say a lot, that means thousands of people. Just getting close to the Tidal Basin (a key area to visit to witness more than 3000 cherry trees), it can take upto 2 hours in jam packed traffic to get there from any direction, and forget about the street parking spots, be prepared and park atleast a mile away from Tidal Basin and either walk or you can take the subway to the closest station. You should really follow this blog to track the peak time for the blossom and plan your travel accordingly.
Cherry blossom is Boston is exciting too, there are great photos ops around the Larz Anderson Bridge.
